Overview
Welcome to Te Pou Toetoe. Come relax, have fun and exercise with us!
With a lane pool, learn to swim pool, toddlers pool, family spa and deep water manu pool, we have
something for everyone.
A variety of group fitness classes also runs from the facility. There are also 2 community rooms
that can be used for events and meetings.
Notes for Cardholders
Hāpai cardholders receive our discounted entry rates such as 50% off casual entry into the pool.

Standing and Queuing
We have 10 accessible carparks opposite the main entrance (30 metres to the door).
If staff see the card/lanyard or you appear to be struggling, they’ll ask you to come to the front of
the queue or direct you to available seating.
Wheelchairs, including wet wheelchairs, are available.
Level Access
We have four accessible carparks, three outside the main entrance (20 metres to the door) and one
near the hoops court.
The entrance area is a low-gradient ramp and an automatic door.
Poolside
Pool access is through an entrance gate. Please ask staff if you need help.
Wet wheelchairs are available beside the pool.
There’s ramp access to the lane pool, teach pool, toddlers pool and spa pool. The manu pool has
ladder access.
We have two accessible changing rooms. One has a manually adjustable bed, hoist, shower with
handrail and toilet a with double handrails and an emergency pull cord. Please bring your own
slings for the hoist, they are not available to hire.
The other accessible changing room has a bench, shower with handrail, and a toilet with a
handrail and emergency pull cord.
Your wheelchair can be left outside the accessible change area. Your scooter/walking frame can be left poolside if it doesn’t block a pathway or emergency exit. Lifeguards can help you with your
equipment when you’re ready to leave the pool.
Dryside
The Weka Room and Bob Todd Room are accessible.
There’s an accessible toilet with a handrail opposite the Weka Room, near the main foyer.
Distances
We have four accessible carparks, three outside the main entrance (20 metres to the door) and one
near the hoops court.
The entrance area is a low-gradient ramp and an automatic door.
Wheelchairs, including wet wheelchairs, are available.
Urgent Toilet Access
We have accessible and public toilets. They are well signposted and open to the public.
Disability Assist Dogs
Assistance dogs are welcome and can wait beside the pool. Speak to a lifeguard if you have any queries or you need help.
There’s a grass area beside the building.
Essential Companions
Your support person has free access to the activity you are attending.
Your support person’s role is to help with communication and any personal care, help you through
the facility and support you in an emergency. They can help you in the pool if required or actively
monitor from the side.
Difficulty Accessing Visual Information
Staff are able to help you to read signs and other information and can guide you to different areas,
including toilets, doorways, and help you negotiate any hazards.
Difficulty Accessing Audible Information
Staff will communicate clearly with you, moving to a quieter area if necessary. Let staff know if
writing information for you to read could help.
Hidden Disabilities
Staff will ask if there is any way we can help you during your visit. We’ll follow your lead to make
sure you have the best possible experience.
